Our model of hybrid education comprises two days a week of tutoring at the Academy and three days a week of homeschooling by parents.
This is what a typical week looks like:
This reflects our model of Classical Education, in which concepts are introduced by tutors on Mondays, reiterated by parents on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and tested by tutors on Thursdays, with Fridays for review.
Homeschooling can be daunting if you haven’t done it before and it is a big change from just dropping your kids off at school. So it is important to be gentle with yourself and to have the support of a network.
This network is a big part of RCA UK. Our community of parents and tutors support each other and are quick to offer advice and help.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, you may have homeschooled your children for the period in which all schools were shut; for many parents, RCA is like a continuation of this experience, just with a lot more support and guidance!
Hybrid education is really about teamwork between tutors and parents. This means that parents take on more responsibility for the education of their children than is normal in today’s society, and our tutors are readily available to help them do so.
We do everything that we can to enable homeschooling to be as successful as possible, providing all resources needed for home educating parents through our shared parent portal.
Even on homeschooling days, our tutors are available to parents on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.
By joining RCA, you would be joining a community of parents who transitioned to home educating and who would have made the very same journey that you are considering taking. You are really not alone!
